Melissa McCarthy has revealed that she “got so sentimental” when she returned to film the Gilmore Girls reunion.
The actress opened up about the reunion during an interview with Pret-a-Reporter, saying it was the “perfect time to do it”.
“I got so sentimental going back to those sets and seeing everybody,” she said.
“It was really amazing how quickly we all fell back into it.”
Speaking about the new episodes, the actress added: “People will be really happy with the scripts.
“I’m back doing chefery and that’s probably all I’m supposed to say. I don’t want to give anything away.”
McCarthy added: “Now was the perfect time to do it. I realized that it had been long enough, and when I went back, I was like, ‘Awww.’ I really, really missed everybody and really missed those characters.”
Gilmore Girls will be back for four 90-minute episodes on Netflix under the name Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.
McCarthy will reprise her role as chef Sookie St James in the revival later this year.
